Celebrating our Executive Director of Support and Wellbeing, Melanie Dunn

Shortly we'll say a fond farewell to our Executive Director of Support and Wellbeing, Melanie Dunn.

Mel joined Honeycomb Group in 2016 to lead our support and wellbeing teams, including our domestic abuse and homelessness specialists, Glow and Concrete, and home support provider, Revival.

As a leader in the organisation, she has played a big part in growing and strengthening our support and wellbeing services. Over the last eight years they have gone from strength to strength, with exciting new services such as the city-wide Destination:Home partnership, our domestic abuse Recovery Hub and the development of home support across Derbyshire, to name a few.

Mel also played a key role in the Group’s 2019 rebrand which saw previous charity Arch become the specialist domestic abuse brand Glow, and homelessness brand Concrete. It was this move that created vast opportunities for both and enabled the Group to provide innovative and tailored services to support more customers and communities.

Honeycomb Group Chief Executive, Julie Guildford Smith, shared more:

“Mel came to Honeycomb Group eight years ago and has been an influential part of our organisation – guiding and strengthening our support and wellbeing services across Glow, Concrete and Revival.

“Her appointment at the Group was the next step in a successful career, which saw her transition from social work into commissioning services at Stoke-on-Trent City Council. This type of work – addressing the needs of local people to create a positive impact – is what led her to Honeycomb Group.

“During her time with us, Mel has guided her support and wellbeing teams through lots of change and exciting new service developments. She has also helped secure opportunities that have transformed the lives of local people.”

It has been announced that Mel has successfully secured a new role as Together Trust Chief Executive. Julie continues:

“On behalf of everyone at Honeycomb Group, we are delighted for Mel and wish her all the very best in her exciting new chapter.”

Mel will leave the Group on Friday 18th October and take a short break before beginning her new role in January, she said:

“I have learnt a great deal during my time at Honeycomb Group and have had the pleasure of working with some amazing people. I am hugely proud of all that we have achieved together and wish the organisation all the success in the future.”

Following an extensive recruitment campaign, Honeycomb Group will announce its Executive Director of Support & Wellbeing appointment shortly. An Interim Executive Director of Support & Wellbeing was appointed on 1st October to enable an effective handover to take place.
